For years, the School of American Music has been grateful to receive donated pianos—each one offered with generosity and good intentions. These instruments have helped us teach countless students and keep music alive in our community.

But over time, the reality has become clear.

Used pianos come with significant challenges:

Frequent and costly tuning
Ongoing maintenance and repairs
Repeated moving and storage expenses
Inconsistent sound and reliability for teaching and performance

As our programs have grown, so has our responsibility to provide students with the best possible learning environment.

That’s why SAM is launching the Forever Piano Fund—a dedicated effort to purchase a new, high-quality, properly functioning piano that will serve our students, teachers, and community for decades to come.
