The Story Behind The Kimble Way Foundation

On February 16, 2025, our lives changed forever.

Our son, Kimble Jacobi Evans, left for just as he had countless times before. He was only 22 years old, a skilled union welder with a bright future, a generous heart, and a work ethic that inspired everyone who knew him. Before every shift, he would call or text me with the same greeting:

“Top of the morning, Evans, or he would say top of the morning to you Madre"

It was our ritual. A simple phrase that became a reminder of the bond between a mother and her son.

Kimble was proof that success does not follow a single path.

While many believe college is the only road to opportunity, Kimble chose the skilled trades. Through hard work, determination, and talent, he built a career he loved. He was proud of the life he was creating and the future he was building for himself.

Then, in an instant, he was gone.

As parents, there is no pain greater than losing a child. In the darkest days of grief, we asked ourselves a difficult question:

How do we make sure Kimble’s life continues to impact others?

The answer became The Kimble Way Foundation.

We created this foundation to help young people pursue their dreams—whether that dream leads them to a welding shop, a technical college, an apprenticeship, a certification program, or a university classroom. We believe every student deserves access to opportunity, mentorship, and support, regardless of the path they choose.

Through scholarships, educational assistance, mentorship programs, and workforce development support, we are committed to removing barriers and opening doors for the next generation.

Every donation helps us:

• Provide scholarships for students pursuing skilled trades and higher education

• Assist with tools, equipment, certifications, and training expenses

• Connect students with mentors who can guide their journey

• Support young people who simply need someone to believe in them
