🐄 More Than One Way to Milk a Cow

There are some things your child says that you never imagine will one day become part of their legacy.

My son, Kimble Jacobi Evans, had a saying:

“There’s more than one way to milk a cow.”

It was Kimble’s way of reminding us that there is rarely only one way to accomplish something—and certainly not only one path to success.

Kimble lived that philosophy.

He chose the skilled trades and became a union welder, building a career with his hands, his determination, and a strong work ethic. As his mother, I was incredibly proud of the young man he became.

After losing Kimble in February 2025, I knew that his story could not simply end there.

The Kimble Way Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was created to carry his spirit forward by helping other young people discover and pursue their way.

Today, we support students pursuing college, skilled trades, apprenticeships, certifications, and career pathways through scholarships and stipends, tools and PPE assistance, mentorship, transportation support, and other resources that can remove barriers between a young person and a sustainable future.

Why “Milk the Cow”?

Our Milk the Cow Campaign turns one of Kimble’s favorite sayings into an opportunity to change lives.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to continue investing directly in students.

Every space on our cow represents another opportunity for someone to say:

I believe in your future. Keep going.

Whether you give $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, or more, every gift moves us closer to helping another student purchase books, obtain tools or PPE, complete a credential, overcome a transportation barrier, receive mentorship, or simply have one less financial obstacle standing between them and their future.

We have already seen what happens when someone chooses to invest.

For Fall 2026, the Kimble Way Foundation awarded three $1,000 student stipends—a $3,000 direct investment in three young men’s futures.

Now we want to do more.

This Is Bigger Than a Fundraiser

For me, this will always be personal.

I am a mother carrying forward the legacy of my only son.

But the Kimble Way Foundation is becoming something much bigger than our family’s story.

Every student we help allows Kimble’s life to continue creating opportunity in someone else’s.

Every mentor who volunteers.

Every donor who gives.

Every company that partners with us.

Every student who completes a program, earns a credential, graduates, enters a skilled trade, begins a career—and eventually reaches back to help someone else.

That is Kimble’s legacy in motion.

There truly is more than one way to milk a cow.

And there is more than one way to change a young person’s life.
