Koda is a sweet, laid back 15 year old Belgian Malinois and a lifetime foster with LOVEPAWS, meaning she is not available for adoption. Due to her advanced age and the desire to spare her from having to adjust to a new home at age 15, we have decided that her foster home will be her forever home. We're SO happy she will get to live out the rest of her life with her foster mommy!
Koda and her brother Paco (a senior brindle pittie) came to us through our community outreach program after their owner passed away suddenly. The neighbors came together to take turns feeding and walking Koda and Paco while they searched for a rescue to take them in. They had no family and their owner would have never wanted them to end up at the shelter, so the neighbors persisted in their search to find Koda and Paco a safe place to call home in their twilight years. They reached out to LOVEPAWS and we immediately reached out to our foster who has fostered dogs from "owner surrender" situations before and she said "How soon can you get them here??". In just a couple of weeks, these sweet siblings were in a warm, loving foster home!
Paco was a an affectionate and playful boy that LOVED toys well through his senior years! He never met a stranger in his life and was a volunteer and vet's office favorite. Sadly, Paco passed from Cushing's-related seizures in September 2023. We are so grateful were able to provide him with a warm, loving home in his senior years, where he got to live with his sister and foster mommy (and sleep on the bed and couch!) and wanted for nothing.
Koda is in good health for a senior girl, however, she does have advanced arthritis, being managed with Librela and Carprofen. Her monthly veterinary bills add up and we can certainly use some help covering those monthly costs with a donation of any amount!
