Right after graduating graduate school and preparing to start my new job, I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer at 30 years old. After a year of active treatment, 6 surgeries, countless doctor appointments and scans, I am now 3 years NED. Since then, life has been crazy with COVID, moving to CA, and working for my amazing company SSG. Nevertheless, in the last year I have felt dull and tired. Taking a chance, I joined Project Koru for Camp 53, the first in Costa Rica, where I met a new ohana, challenged myself to learn to surf, got a new perspective in life, and revised my personal motto to "live with no regrets". I wish every young survivor would have the chance for the same.
