Kent State Women's Rugby has qualified for the

Lone Star Bowl!

After a regular season filled with cancellations from opponents, unfortunately, the Golden Flashes did not qualify for the at-large bid to continue their postseason on the playoff pathway. However, the team has been invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Lone Star Bowl during NCR's National Championship Weekend, in Houston, Texas. The showcase match will open the day on Sunday, December 3, 2023, in AVEVA Stadium, and streamed live on NCR's YouTube. The trip will cost the team roughly $15,000, which covers flights, transportation, lodging, food, etc. To help the Golden Flashes get to Texas, we are launching a fundraising campaign with different donation levels. Your contribution will help the team cover the trip expenses and represent Kent State in this prestigious event. Thank you for your support!

Though affiliated with the University, the club is self-sufficient and relies solely on its players, alumni, and sponsors for all financial support. Each active player is held to a high academic standard and is required to represent themselves, the University, and the overall club in a professional manner both on and off the field.

The Kent Rugby Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting the game of rugby throughout the state of Ohio. The Kent Rugby Foundation is its own entity and is not directly affiliated with any other school, business, or organization. Through fundraising events and donations from our supporters, we are not only capable of supporting our home clubs, but also rugby clubs at the youth, high school, and collegiate level. We are rugby players; past and present. We know the struggles each club faces year after year. Our goal is to lessen those struggles and help increase the visibility of the sport we love.
