"Keeping the Fires Burning" Capital Fund

In 1929, Muggs & Janet Lorber had a dream, of a Rec Hall full of song, a canoe full of young people seeking adventure, and a Council Fire full of keylogs that lit its flame anew. Nearly a century later the camp family has come together to renew that dream and secure it forever. In 2022, a remarkable collaboration unfolded as dozens of former campers and staff, alongside Adam & Steph, with the unwavering support of Nardie & Sally and Roger & Judy, united to secure Camp Nebagamon's future indefinitely. They embarked on a monumental $10 million capital campaign aimed at facilitating the purchase and transition of Camp Nebagamon from a private, family run business into a tax-exempt non-profit model. This transition removes many of the risks of the traditional model and allows Nebagamon leadership to focus solely on creating the best summer experience possible for our campers. This endeavor also establishes emergency reserves that will safeguard the long-term financial stability of Camp, ensuring that the cherished memories created here will endure for generations to come. Today, Camp Nebagamon is a fully mission-driven organization, effectively serving the Camp Family through its Board of Directors and year-round leadership team.
