For the first time Montclair Ultimate frisbee has been invited to nationals. Montclair ultimate was founded a while back and was a very small team, at one point consisting of only ten kids. Now it is a two roster team that wins tournaments!

I joined the frisbee team sophomore year and had come from playing many sports: soccer, baseball, lacrosse, rock climbing, skiing, etc. As soon as I joined the team I knew it was special. It is 100% student run and coached and everyone was very passionate. Unlike most other teams and sports it was very inviting and pushed the players up. The team has easily the best team spirit of any team I have played on and it is truly amazing that we are going to nationals.

Personally this team has helped me get through tough times of transition and even the thought of nationals has boosted my determination, not to mention the team’s determination as well. As soon as we heard the news, spirits shifted even further and everyone locked in. In particular for me it is amazing when I see the team as exited as we are right now. It is nice to be a part of such an amazing team and to be able to experience a once in a lifetime moment together.
