Giving Tuesday 2024

As CEO of St. Vincent de Paul for the last nine years, I am truly blessed with the opportunity to serve this organization and the people it serves. There is so much incredible work going on, and it has such an important level of impact throughout the community, that it truly is inspiring to go to work every day! Over the last year, SVdP has served over 35,000 individuals with over $3,000,000 in charity to help those most in need become self-sufficient.

The time of year is coming when some of our most important and impactful work occurs. The weather turns cold, the need for warmth, shelter, clothing, and food increases, and we work to make the holidays happier for those less fortunate than ourselves.

While I am asking you to support St. Vincent de Paul financially, I want you to know how your money will be used. During the months of November and December, we will experience our busiest time of the year. Our food pantries alone will cost us over $40,000 during the holidays, and our reentry and employment programs are more important than ever to help people get back to self-sufficiency during these times of high inflation. Our goal is to raise $20,000 this holiday season to help those most in need!

Did you know that a donation to St. Vincent de Paul will:

•    Serve over 21,000 families with food, clothing, and hygiene products
•    Help more than 300 individuals successfully reenter society from prison or jail
•    Train over 200 individuals for placement in the workforce leading to a career
•    Provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to more than 3,000 individuals

Please consider donating what you can to St. Vincent de Paul in support of our efforts. We use 100% of the donations to provide food and a happy holiday season to those most in need throughout the Des Moines area. Donations are accepted on our website, www.svdpdsm.org or by check mailed to 801 73rd St. Ste. J, Windsor Heights, IA 50324. The need continues to grow, and your support for these efforts is now more important than ever!

Thank you for your support, and I would like to invite you to St. Vincent de Paul for a tour of one of our human services campuses to see what we do.

On behalf of those we serve, our volunteers, and staff, THANK YOU for helping us help others!

Blessings,

Steve Havemann, CEO
