Support Volunteering Untapped Chicago for Giving Tuesday!

Volunteering Untapped Chicago's (VU) mission is to foster a community of engaged Chicagoans by connecting young adults to volunteer opportunities with nonprofit organizations throughout Chicago. We envision a Chicago where young adults feel a sense of belonging and are motivated to act on their responsibility to their community.

In 2022, VU helped welcome two refugee families to Chicago through a partnership with Refugee Community Connection, a community organization that seeks to ease the transition for newly arrived refugees in Chicago. Earlier in the year, a group of 16 VU volunteers signed up for a 3-month commitment to help collect donations and assist these families with any needs that arose as they began settling into a new home and country. They assisted with furnishing apartments, applying for FAFSA aid, resume writing, purchasing home needs and most importantly, welcoming them into the Volunteering Untapped community.

We need your help in raising $2,000 in order to purchase 10 Chromebooks for 10 refugee families in Chicago. Technology is vital for these families to access essential services, find resources for employment and education, and maintain connections with family and friends around the world. Please consider supporting Volunteering Untapped Chicago’s partnership with Refugee Community Connection this Giving Tuesday.
