It All Starts With a Suitcase
Please help Pink Lemons raise $10,000 during this Black Philanthropy Month so that we can provide suitcases for 200 of our youth that are exiting the foster system.

Each year, about 1200 Illinois youth transition from the foster care system. Right now the state of Illinois provides youth graduating from foster care with garbage bags. This doesn’t give off a great message to these youth, and it doesn’t start them off on the right foot when exiting care.
Pink Lemons wants every youth that transitions out of foster care to leave with dignity and empowerment. The goal is that these youth will leave with suitcases full of knowledge and confidence to succeed in the world. With the necessary funding raised during Black Philanthropy Month, Pink Lemons will provide at least 200 suitcases to Illinois youth exiting the foster care system.
In the minds of these youth, this is not just a suitcase. We are giving these youth something meaningful to take with them. We are telling these youth that someone is in the corner. We are instilling dignity and confidence within them.
