Story
Hello loyal listener,
In the seventies, polyester was the material of choice, The Godfather was the blockbuster hit, and we were all singin' "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by the legendary Roberta Flack. For the first time on October 7th, 1972, our 10-watt transmitter whirred to life, the live on-air sign glowed, and the residents of West Las Vegas 89106 heard, "you are listening to KCEP 88.1 FM Las Vegas."
In our 50 years on the air, we've truly become The People's Station, ensuring that listeners have only the highest quality access to crucial news and information, community-oriented programming, and of course, great music. We've seen our station grow to ten thousand watts of power, and our reach and listenership expand throughout the valley and beyond.
While bell bottoms may be back in style, our analog transmitter is out of fashion and needs replacement. We are now seeking community support to help us match the valley's growth as we seek to achieve our fundraising goal of $100,000 for a new digital transmitter and upgraded studio equipment. A new transmitter will give us modern technology benefits and higher sound quality, additionally create a new high-definition channel dedicated to 24/7 Gospel!
We ask our listeners to own a piece of the airwaves as we purchase a new transmitter that will elevate our mission in engaging, informing, and entertaining with a distinctive and thoughtful mix of news, public affairs, and music programming.
Thank you for your support!
