Diabetes Research Fundraiser to Support Jacob Lang

Help the DeMatha SGA Support Jacob Lang and the Fight Against Type 1 Diabetes

The DeMatha Student Government Association is proud to support freshman Jacob Lang, who is leading a heartfelt campaign to raise money for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research through JDRF, the leading global organization funding T1D research.

Jacob’s initiative—called The Lang Gang—is personal and powerful. This year, he’s taking over his family’s JDRF Walk team and is stepping up to lead efforts to one day create a world without T1D.

“Liam and I do everything we would do if we didn’t have diabetes—but it comes with bumps in the road,” Jacob shares. Those bumps include dealing with itchy insulin pumps, sleepless nights from constant alerts, and having to monitor blood sugar levels even while playing sports.

Yet through it all, Jacob remains positive and passionate.
“I love teaching others about diabetes. It really makes me happy when people say, ‘Wow, I can’t believe you do all the stuff you do with diabetes.’”

With the love of family, friends, and supporters like you, Jacob is determined to help turn Type One into Type None.

To help raise funds for Jacob’s cause, the SGA is hosting a 50/50 Raffle, with half the proceeds going to support diabetes research and the other half awarded as an Amazon gift card to one lucky winner!
