My church, "Faith Lutheran Church" in Arlington, recently donated $310 (as a match) to Just Neighbors to help our neighbors, who because of COVID-19 are not able to file their immigration applications. Many individuals must pay between $500-$2,000 in order to renew their work permit or get a green card but because of the pandemic, many immigrants can not even pay for food and rent, much less these very expensive fees. These are our neighbors, who were not eligible for the stimulus help and who lost their jobs as restaurants, hotels and other employers were forced to close. Unfortunately it is a cost that people overlook as we focus on food, rental and utilities assistance but if families can't pay these fees, they can lose their immigration status and not be able to work at all.  Please help me triple the number of families we can help by raising $620 more.
