Friday and Saturday February 18th and 19th from 11 am - 6 pm we will be selling brisket sandwiches and chips and a few desserts in order to raise money for our cause. We will be taking pre-orders and orders on site. We will also be selling raffle tickets and there will be a donation box for those who like to give the good old fashioned way. This event will be in our parking lot by the smoker and all items will be to go as we cannot open our dining room prior to the repairs being finished.
Story
So many of you have asked how you can help, do we need cash, workers, materials? Truth is sometimes asking for help is a hard thing to do. Kevin and I have a very strong work ethic and we believe you should work for what you get and that nothing in life is free. A friend of mine told me today that in order to give, you have to be willing to receive and that when you are able to receive you allow someone else to be a blessing, so it is with humble and grateful hearts that we have created this platform that will allow yall to give should you feel led or desire to do so. You can donate here and we are also hosting a fundraiser on site Friday and Saturday from 11-6 where we will be selling our smoked brisket sandwiches and desserts to go, as well as offering raffle tickets. There will be a donation box there also for those of you who like to give the good old fashioned way.
Many of you know that we opened our doors just six short weeks before Covid. Having invested everything we have, along with blood, sweat, tears and working tirelessly around the clock to bring our vision to life we knew failure was not an option. Despite many obstacles such as covid shutdowns, staffing and supply shortages and shutting down on more than one occasion due to building issues and weather phenomenons we not only have managed to stay open, but we have seen more success than we ever dreamed or imagined.
Unfortunately last weekend a reoccurring building issue reared its ugly head yet again and we were forced to close and are literally on the brink of losing everything we have fought so hard to build. We should not be facing what we are facing as this issue lies outside of our realm of responsibility. We called in professionals who diagnosed and remedied the immediate problem at hand and have been given the assurance that a long term remedy is in the works. We hope that to be the case, however even so, the issue has had a reverberating impact causing us to suffer a very significant loss of revenue, our employees being unable to work for over a week, as well as having to replace our flooring at our own expense. These are the things we factored in when we established a goal for this fundraiser.
As we stated before this was very hard for us to do and we have put a ton of consideration into what we are asking. We love this community and the surrounding communities. We built our restaurant based on that love. We love cooking and feeding yall. We love coming up with new, creative dishes every week and seeing yall’s reactions when you take that first bite. We love seeing memories made in our dining room. We love sitting down at the table and making friends with new customers and cutting up with the old ones. We would not be who we are without the love and support we have been shown from the beginning. We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you. We cannot thank you enough and we hope we are able to continue cooking all the good cajun food for yall to eat.We hope and pray we can get back in that kitchen next week and laissez les bon temps rouler! that means let the good times roll for those of y'all who were wondering.
