Please Donate to Help Repair Laika’s Broken Leg

Laika was rescued from a BARC euthanasia deadline with a broken leg.

After evaluation by a surgeon, we now know her injury is more complex than originally thought. Because of where the break is, her leg will need to be re-broken and properly repaired, and she has also torn her ACL from compensating on it.

Her surgery is scheduled for May 6. It will be a long procedure followed by approximately 10 weeks of recovery, and possibly rehabilitation.

We are fundraising $5,000 to cover her surgery and care.

My sweet Laika girl,

Before you head into surgery, I want you to know something very important—you are so deeply loved.

These next few weeks won’t be easy. There will be rest, healing, and moments where things feel different. But every step of this is leading you toward a life without pain—one where you can finally feel like yourself.

You’re already getting stronger. You’re gaining weight, you’re being cared for exactly as the doctor ordered (medicated baths and all), and you’re surrounded by people who are fully in your corner. We’ve got you every step of the way.

And while we’re helping you heal, we’re also searching for your perfect forever family—the kind of home that will see what we see in you: your sweetness, your gentle spirit, your resilience.
