The Lake grounds me. There is just something about being on the lake that really makes me happy. I grew up along the shores of Lake Champlain and never once took it's beauty and strength for granted! I learned early on that the lake demanded the upmost respect. Many hours spent cruising and racing the waters of Lake Champlain have provided me with a true appreciation of all the lake has to offer. I was first introduced to the concept of the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center back in the mid 90's when I was a board member working with visionaries Daly Hyerstay, Marcel Beaudoin, and Fritz Horton to name a few. I say concept, because back then, what you see today as the LCCSC, was merely a drawing! To see the vision from that time turn into what LCCSC is today is a testament to perseverance, dedication and a lot of hard, hard work. I have joined the fundraising challenge to help raise money for an organization that is truly dear to my heart. I have had the upmost privilege to grow up on the lake and also be a member of the Malletts Bay Boat Club. This has allowed me to enjoy all the lake has to offer. It is my goal to share that love for the lake with as many people as possible in my lifetime. And the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center makes this amazing resource ACCESSIBLE to ANYONE! And that is why we need to continue to raise money for this incredible community resource!
