Help Us Grow — A Piece at a Time! 💜

Our Goal: $20,000 | We're Asking Our Community to Help Raise $10,000!

Sometimes, something as simple as finding clothes that fit can make a world of difference.

Imagine opening your closet and realizing that nothing fits anymore. Maybe you've lost weight while working toward a healthier lifestyle. Maybe you've gained weight because of a medical condition, medication, or a major life change. Maybe you're recovering from surgery, battling an illness, or simply going through a season of life where your body is changing.

Now imagine having a place where you can walk in, feel welcomed, and find clothing that fits your body today — without worrying about the cost.

That's why A Piece at a Time exists.

We are a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Cedar Rapids area, dedicated to helping adults experiencing body changes find clothing that fits their journey, restores confidence, and celebrates progress.

Through our free clothing closet, we provide a welcoming, judgment-free environment where individuals can find clothing that meets their changing needs. We believe everyone deserves to feel comfortable, confident, and valued, regardless of their size, circumstances, or financial situation.

💜 We've Grown, and Now We Need Room to Grow!

What started as a vision to help others has become something incredibly meaningful. We've seen firsthand how much of a difference a simple pair of jeans, a comfortable shirt, or an outfit that fits can make in someone's life.

But as more people learn about our organization, we're realizing something important:

Our current space is limiting how much we can do.

We need more room to organize clothing, welcome shoppers, accommodate volunteers, and provide the comfortable, private shopping experience our community deserves.

A larger location would allow us to:

👕 Serve more individuals who are navigating weight changes, medical challenges, and life transitions.
💜 Create a more comfortable shopping experience where every person feels respected and welcomed.
🛍️ Expand our clothing selection and make it easier for shoppers to find the sizes and styles they need.
🤝 Welcome more volunteers who want to make a difference in our community.
🌱 Build a stronger, more sustainable organization that can continue serving people for years to come.

🎯 Our Plan: Raising $20,000 Together

We have set a fundraising goal of $20,000 to help make our move into a larger space possible.

We're asking our community to help us raise $10,000 through this Givebutter campaign.

Our organization will work to raise the remaining $10,000 through business sponsorships, private donors, and additional fundraising events.

We're not asking our community to do this alone. We're committed to doing our part, working hard, building partnerships, and finding creative ways to make this next chapter possible.

These funds will help us with the expenses associated with securing and preparing a larger location, including moving costs, storage, clothing displays, and other essential needs to create a welcoming and functional space.

❤️ Your Donation Is About More Than Clothing

When you give to A Piece at a Time, you're not just helping us find a larger building.

You're helping someone who has lost 50 pounds find clothes that fit their new body.

You're helping someone experiencing unexpected weight gain feel comfortable and confident again.

You're helping someone recovering from an illness find clothing that makes getting dressed a little easier.

You're helping someone walk into a space where they don't have to explain their circumstances, feel embarrassed about their size, or worry about how they'll afford clothing.

You're helping us remind people that their worth has never been determined by the number on a clothing tag.

💜 Will You Help Us Take This Next Step?

Whether you can give $5, $25, $50, $100, or more, every donation brings us closer to opening the doors to a larger space.

And if you're unable to donate financially, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, coworkers, or local businesses is another meaningful way to support our mission.

We know that $20,000 is a big goal for a small nonprofit. But we also know that incredible things happen when a community comes together.

We started A Piece at a Time with the belief that small changes can make a big difference. Now we're asking you to help us make one big change that will create thousands of little moments of confidence, dignity, and hope.

Thank you for believing in our mission, supporting our growth, and helping us make sure that no one has to navigate their changing body alone.

Together, we can make room for more confidence, more dignity, and more lives changed — one piece at a time. 💜

A Piece at a Time is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
