Edward’s story was one of quiet fear and unwavering loyalty. Found alongside Bella after they had been posted online for free, Edward is one of the most frightened pigs we had ever encountered. His fear runs deep, reflecting trauma no animal should experience. Yet through it all, he never left Bella’s side.

From the moment help arrived, Edward stayed glued to her, stressed and terrified but determined to remain close. As Bella faced emergency medical care, Edward’s emotional needs became just as clear as her physical ones. His fear was heartbreaking, and it was evident that he would require time, patience, and a safe environment to begin rebuilding trust.

Because of Edward’s profound emotional trauma and Bella’s ongoing medical challenges, the decision was made for them to remain together permanently at Layla’s Rescue Ranch.
