Meet Oinkles (DOB: 3/18/2012), a senior pig with a story rooted in love, compassion, and remembrance.

Oinkles was originally purchased by Adopt a Dream for a very special girl whose wish was to have a pig. She deeply loved animals and was especially devoted to Oinkles. Oinkles lived a spoiled indoor life and continued to be cherished by her family even after the passing of her beloved companion.

Due to zoning issues tied to an upcoming move, Oinkles needed a new home for her golden years. The email we received touched our hearts, and because we specialize in senior pigs, we said yes to welcoming Oinkles to sanctuary life at Layla’s Rescue Ranch (LRR). Her family ensured her comfort by providing a special insulated shelter — a princess castle created in loving memory of the special girl who adored her pig.

Unfortunately, Oinkles was never spayed by the breeder. Upon intake, she was rushed for an emergency spay due to active bleeding. Thanks to the quick action and dedication of our veterinarian, Dr. Jacob, Oinkles’ life was saved.

Oinkles is currently living as a house pig at LRR while she recovers and will transition to her castle when weather permits.
