Snout Sponsor: Tofu
Tofu was rescued in March 2024 from a severe neglect case that was actively being investigated by animal control and authorities. Formerly known as Porkchop, Tofu had spent nearly his entire life in conditions no animal should ever endure. For over ten years, he lived in a small, open pen without a gate, knee-deep in mud, surrounded by rats that fed off his body. He had no proper shelter, no clean water, and no meaningful human interaction.
Tofu’s suffering was extensive. He had been fed dog food for the first decade of his life, leaving his body depleted and struggling. His skin was ravaged by severe mange that covered and suffocated his body. His tusks had grown unchecked, curling painfully into his face. Even more devastating, Tofu was found to have testicular cancer from never being neutered, along with skin cancer—both the result of years of neglect.
Against all odds, Tofu survived.
With immediate medical intervention, ongoing veterinary care, and relentless dedication, Tofu overcame both cancers and began the long road to healing. His body slowly recovered, his skin healed, and his pain was finally addressed. Just as importantly, his spirit emerged—gentle, affectionate, and eager for connection despite everything he had been through.
Today, Tofu is a cherished member of the Gentlemen’s Club, where he is thriving alongside piggy friends and soaking up the life he was always meant to have. He is your constant shadow, happiest when surrounded by humans or fellow pigs, and never turns down affection. One of his greatest joys is belly rubs—proof of the trust and love he has learned to give again.
Tofu’s story is one of resilience, survival, and transformation. From unimaginable neglect to companionship and comfort, he now lives a life defined not by his past—but by the love that saved him.
