LCD STEAM Programs

Lights Camera Discover was built with a simple purpose, to break the cycle of multi-generational poverty by equipping youth with education and skills in careers that are in demand. Through film production instruction, our programs inspire students to graduate from high school and prepare them to succeed in college and the workforce.

We provide disadvantaged youth living in poverty with quality STEAM (with an emphasis on Art) Education Programming. Youth are trained in digital media through screenwriting, acting, filmmaking, and are given opportunities to grow confidence, build self-esteem, and learn teamwork. In addition to their arts learning, participating youth: 1) Gain better awareness of their own behaviors; 2) Decrease depression symptoms; 3) Help educate peers on anti-bullying curriculum; 4) Learn how to work as a team; 5) Improve literacy and reading skills; 6) Gain greater self-esteem; 7) Gain more confidence; 8) Experience positive peer interactions.
