About

For many youth, the barriers to college success begin long before graduation: poverty, lack of summer programming, learning loss, and the rising cost of higher education. Mentoring Mentors Inc. responds through the L.E.A.D.E.R.S. Summer Program, a transformative experience that combines dual enrollment/college coursework at Coppin State University, restorative wellness, cultural identity, and experiential learning in a supportive HBCU/College campus environment for rising 10th–12th graders. Last summer, students earned 234 college credits with an 87% completion rate, while 94% said they want the program to return, and 90% want continued year-round engagement.

Last Year

Last year, 50 youth participated in our program, and 63% had no access to any structured summer programming in 2024. The cost per student was $1,751.42.

This Year

This year, we are working to expand our reach to 75 youth while lowering the cost per student to $1,510.72. This growth will allow us to serve more young people with the academic support, mentorship, and summer opportunities they need to thrive.
