Thank you for your recent gift to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation's Leave No One Behind Fund. We are so grateful. Your donation and commitment help to ensure that our guiding principles – Open Door, Open Heart – persevere throughout these challenging times.

As the highest-impact animal welfare organization in the County, the Shelter serves approximately 7,000 animals every year. We offer services at our two locations in Live Oak and Watsonville, and through preventive community outreach such as Healthy Pets for All which provides free veterinary care to low-income or unhoused individuals and Planned Pethood, a progressive program offering low-cost spay/neuter to pets in need.

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is particularly unique in that it is an open admission shelter, which means that NO ANIMAL is ever turned away. Our goal is to be a humane resource for the community by providing a safety net and second chance for local animals. Our success is achieved through a variety of life-saving services and programs. The support of our community is absolutely critical to sustaining and expanding these services.
