The exhibit will highlight our work in both gardens, showcasing artistically designed seed packet art inspired by the diverse plant collections in each of our historic gardens. The event aims to celebrate our gardening heritage and African diaspora foodways engage the community and support the preservation of our gardens through sponsorships and limited edition seed sales. We will solicit entries from the community and impanel judges to vote on their favorites along with a vote by museum visitors, with winners announced at an event celebrating the harvesting and packaging of seeds from our gardens. Additionally, we will install a fountain in the well of the Kitchen Garden at the King-Tisdell Cottage. Throughout the exhibit and voting period, we will host several events, providing sponsors with increased exposure and ample opportunities for community involvement.
