The Making Place is a volunteer founded and run non profit. A makerspace offering creative events & workshops, a tool library, and shared community workspace. 

This project started in October of 2023 with a public interest survey. Now, fall of 2025 and two years in, The Making Place has fulfilled all three initial services they set out to create. Located at 619 Nucleus Ave above Uptown Hearth, their community workspace makes it easier for people to create, learn and share.

TMP wants to provide a "third space" in the community where people can connect and hangout. Their longterm vision is to grow into a large workshop that meets the wants and needs of the creative community.

For artists The Making Place could be a space to practice your craft, teach workshops and classes, share work with the community, or check out a tool.

For community members The Making Place could be a space to learn new skills, shop for local art, access resources, or attend events.
