Organized by Brooklyn Community Pride Center
Story
Since 2008, the Pride Center has served tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ folks, from Brighton Beach to Brownsville to Bushwick to beyond the borough.
We keep our community healthy. Last summer, when the City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene was slow to open vaccinations sites in Brooklyn, the Pride Center opened its doors to the community as a vaccine clinic, providing more vaccines than any other CBO-hosted site.
We are a home and incubator to innovative and impactful organizations, like Brooklyn GHOST Project (Black and Brown trans community), GRIOT Circle (Black and Brown LGBTQ+ elders), Trans formative Schools (trans youth), and many others, ensure these groups have free access to a space to provide life-affirming programs and services.
We create a safe space for our community. During a time of increasing hateful rhetoric and violence towards our community, the need for such a space couldn’t be greater.
Brooklyn Community Pride Center is a safer space for our community to thrive fully and freely, without fear.
