I first became involved with Empowering Children School when I was teaching and wanted my students to make some global connections. As our classes communicated via email and Skype, I learned their teacher was raising all of the funds for them to attend school, and they were Skyping with his phone. I did a crowdfunding event, and raised the money for internet and computers in their school, and I have been hooked since then. 

We formed a board, added disaster relief and an agriculture program, and in 2023 added a second school!  This second school is in a borrowed building in a remote village and started with 56 children who had never been to school before. We ae now in our third year, and enrollment is up to 86 beautiful children! Our fundraiser is to build a new school, with 9 classrooms and an agriculture center. Last year we raised enough for the walls. This year we are raising the roof! We're changing the lives of these children, and empowering them with education to rise above poverty. I'm passionate about this opportunity to so drastically improve so many lives!
