In February 2020, I took a leap of faith and joined a global penpal platform for my high school students. The Empowering Children School was the first to reach out and I immediately fell in love with their mission and story. Ibrahim's students wrote letters to my kiddos. My kiddos responded with short videos. For a variety of reasons, including COVID, our correspondence was put on hold until 2022, which is when I joined the Board of Directors.

My four years of service to SHARP have restored my love and faith in humanity. The smiles of the beautiful learners at the Empowering Children School break my heart and fill it with hope at the same time. It is almost impossible to fathom how they are able to laugh and sing amongst merciless floods and relentless poverty. Only they can see the true goodness and beauty of this fleeting life. They are the angels showing the rest of us how to live fully.

I am beyond excited to finish the construction of our agricultural center and school. Your support is not just for a new facility. You will restore hope and empowerment to a community that is ready and eager to become economically stable via entrepreneurship and sustainability.
