By partnering with school social workers, the Foundation ensures students and families have access to essential resources and services, helping them overcome challenges. In 2023-2024, the Foundation invested nearly $30,000, directly benefiting over 1,000 students and their families. Here is the impact of our Liberty Cares Fund:

Relieving Student Meal Debt: Nearly $11,000 in meal debt was cleared for 442 students, easing the burden for families qualifying for free or reduced meals.
Back-to-School Essentials: Provided 300 students with backpacks, headphones, and earbuds to start the school year ready to learn.
Stocked District Necessities Closet: Supplied hygiene products, toiletries, clothing, and household essentials to support LPS families throughout the year.
Emergency Utility Assistance: Helped 31 families keep their utilities running during difficult times.
Temporary Relocation Support: Provided relocation assistance for 7 families, often escaping unsafe or abusive situations.
Housing and Transportation Assistance: Assisted 6 families with critical housing and transportation needs.
Shoe Gift Cards: Distributed $1,350 in shoe gift cards for 28 students, ensuring they had appropriate footwear.
Additional Emergency Assistance: Supported 18 families with various needs, from head lice treatment to graduation gown rentals.
