Meet Mabel...

Mabel lives with her dad. He came to DVCC first seeking assistance with protective orders to keep him and his daughter safe from his abusive partner. Mabel is a sparkly and resilient four-year-old who loves Elsa from Frozen. Her dad works hard to afford the rent to keep them in their apartment. DVCC advocates helped them enroll in Rapid Rehousing. While they've since exited this public assistance program, their DVCC case manager sees them regularly to make sure they are stable and safe. It hasn't been easy as a single parent and the sole provider for Mabel's childcare and all other financial responsibilities. However, Mabel's dad puts her safety first and has worked hard to maintain a roof over their heads and warm meals in their bellies as they navigate their journey forward together.
