Our Story

When we launched LUNAR: The Jewish-Asian Film Project in 2021, we never imagined that thousands of Asian American Jews across the nation would come together to support the project. To meet this growing need, we re-emerged as the LUNAR Collective, the premiere organization by and for Asian American Jews.

Now, we run virtual and local community programs across the US, as well as inclusive Jewish learning and one-on-one pastoral counsel with our Rabbi-in-Residence, Rabbi Mira Rivera, and Ritual Director, Rachel Chang. LUNAR spearheads different storytelling initiatives including our Asian Jewish Haggadah, nigun, and theatre show, What Do I Do With All This Heritage. LUNAR continues to expand and evolve, but one thing will never change: our commitment to cultivating connection, belonging, and visibility for Asian American Jews.
