What is the Lip Sync League Smackdown?

On Friday, June 20, Stonewall Sports Chicago is hosting its first Lip Sync League Smackdown. Representatives from each of our leagues will go head to head in a lip sync battle for the crown while raising tips for charity. This event is a chance for our community to come together, celebrate Pride, and raise money for local organizations doing meaningful work.

This is more than just a fun night out. It is an opportunity to show up for LGBTQIA+ people across Chicago and help support critical programs and services.

Who Are We Supporting?

All funds raised will go to the Stonewall Sports Chicago Community Impact Fund, which supports our annual charity partners. This year’s partners include Brave Space Alliance and Center on Halsted Youth and Family Services. These organizations provide essential services to LGBTQIA+ people in Chicago, especially transgender individuals, youth, and people of color.

Last year, we donated $125,000 to local LGBTQIA+ nonprofit organizations. With your help, we hope to continue growing that impact in 2025 and beyond.

How It Works:

Each Stonewall league has one representative performing a lip sync of their choice. Throughout the event (and in the days leading up to it), they will be collecting tips — every dollar donated counts as a vote.

After the first round of performances, the three performers who have raised the most money will advance to a final round. Each finalist will perform once more, giving the audience another chance to tip and show support.

At the end of the night, the performer who has raised the most total funds will be crowned the 2025 Lip Sync League Champion.
