Little Sisters of the Poor (BSU Fundraiser)

The Little Sisters of the Poor are an international community of Catholic women dedicated to caring for the elderly poor with dignity, compassion, and love. Founded in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan, their mission is to provide a home where elderly individuals of all backgrounds are welcomed, cared for like family, and supported physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In Washington, D.C., they continue this mission by serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community—seniors who are often without the financial means or family support to care for themselves.

The Sisters rely heavily on the generosity of donors, community partnerships, and grants to sustain their work. However, recent funding cuts and reductions in grant support have placed them in dire financial need, making community-driven efforts like this fundraiser more important than ever. Without consistent support, it becomes increasingly difficult for them to provide essential care, meals, and a safe, loving home for the elderly residents they serve.

We are asking for financial donations to help support the Little Sisters of the Poor during this critical time. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward providing care and resources for the elderly residents they serve.

By donating, you are helping the Little Sisters of the Poor continue their vital mission and ensuring that those in need are treated with the dignity and care they deserve.
