Join The Little Zebra Fund and UDNF in Transforming Lives Through Genetic Testing
We are excited to announce a collaborative campaign between the Undiagnosed Diseases Network Foundation (UDNF) and The Little Zebra Fund, aiming to provide essential genetic testing for individuals facing undiagnosed medical conditions. Your support can make a profound difference in the lives of these patients and their families.
About The Little Zebra Fund
The Little Zebra Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2018 by medical geneticists Dr. Maura Ruzhnikov and Dr. Gretchen Foskett, who witnessed the financial and emotional toll of the diagnostic odyssey on countless families. Since its inception, LZF has allocated $476,800 worth of clinically indicated genetic testing, ensuring that patients receive the diagnostic answers they desperately need.
LZF provides funding for clinical, diagnostic genetic testing for patients who were denied access by their insurance. The mission of Little Zebra Fund is to expand access to genetic testing so that patients can benefit from the life-changing impacts of a diagnosis.
Moving forward, the Little Zebra Fund’s mission and work will live on through this campaign at UDNF. As the fund winds down its independent operations, UDNF will continue its commitment to ensuring universal access to clinical genetic testing and transforming lives through these vital services.
Under the umbrella of the UDNF, we are launching The Little Zebra Fund Campaign. This campaign, like the work The Little Zebra Fund has supported over the years, will help eliminate financial barriers that prevent individuals from obtaining necessary diagnostics, thereby facilitating timely and accurate diagnoses for those with undiagnosed or ultra-rare conditions.
How Your Donation Helps
Your generous contribution will directly fund genetic testing for patients in need. The Little Zebra Fund Campaign will allocate funds as follows:
Up to $500 for single gene testing
Up to $600 for chromosomal microarray or multi-gene panels
Up to $3,000 for trio exome sequencing
Up to $6,000 for trio whole genome sequencing
These tests are crucial in identifying genetic disorders, allowing for appropriate medical interventions and support.
