Thank you for supporting the Live Like Allie Foundation! (501c3 status pending) We are in the beginning stages of setting up our foundation to be able to support causes related to the prevention of violence in the Greater Baton Rouge community as well as other causes which will honor our beloved Allie. As these campaigns come to life, we will provide opportunities to donate directly to those campaigns, or you are more than welcome to donate to the general fund where we will responsibly apply the funds where needed.

Who is Allie?

Our beloved Allie Rice was cruelly taken from her family and community by a senseless act of violence on September 16, 2022 in Baton Rouge, LA at the age of 21. She was a resident of Geismar, LA. Throughout her youth, Allie was both a competition dancer and a competition cheerleader. She was a member of the cheerleading team at Dutchtown High School where she was also a member of the Homecoming court. During her senior year at Dutchtown, she was also "the voice of Dutchtown High" where she gave announcements every morning and concluded daily with "It's a great day to be a Griffin!". She was in her senior year at LSU with a major in Marketing. Allie was set to graduate in May 2023 and was awarded with a posthumous degree by LSU in December 2022.

Her death has devastated an entire community and has even received national attention through Fox News, NewsNation, CBS Inside Edition, and People Magazine. In the wake of this tragedy, her family and friends have vowed to keep her memory alive and promote the characteristics which defined Allie - her energy, her fun-loving personality, her smile and laugh, and her giving nature. This is the purpose of the Live Like Allie Foundation.

Allie's murder remains unsolved and a private $50,000 reward (not affiliated with this foundation) has been pledged by businesses and citizens in the area for information leading to the capture of her killer(s). Allie leaves behind a loving family including her parents, step-parents, two brothers, two step-brothers, and three step-sisters.

What is the Live Like Allie Foundation doing?

As mentioned previously, we are in the early stages of starting this foundation and have plenty of ideas and initiatives which will be announced soon. But we have been busy!

Within a few days of Allie's passing, we began a yellow bracelet campaign with the words "Live Like Allie" printed on them - our goal was to promote the brightness which Allie portrayed and to focus on the positives instead of the violent end that she met. At this time, we have distributed nearly 50,000 bracelets across the nation. They have been distributed by businesses throughout the Greater Baton Rouge area. They are prominently worn and displayed throughout our schools, by our elected officials, by local media personalities, businesses, and organizations of a wide spectrum. Recently, we have received requests for bracelets to be used in upcoming Mardi Gras parades and continue to receive requests from businesses and organizations in the area.

Additionally, our foundation recently used funds raised to provide and sponsor two cameras as part of the Page Rice Camera Initiative - named in honor of Devin Page Jr., a three-year old who was sleeping in his bed when struck by a bullet during a drive by shooting in Baton Rouge, and Allie. We are also involved with community leaders and activists to help promote culture change and violence prevention in the Greater Baton Rouge area. Details of our involvement and activity can be found on our Live Like Allie Facebook Page.

Our foundation is also planning to provide scholarship opportunities for the upcoming school year. We still have some details to work out here, but hope to announce our application process and criteria very soon.

Many more initiatives will be brought forth in the coming months. In the meantime we are working on our website, formation of our Board of Directors, and continuing to discuss our direction for the future.
