Going to Seed provides customized seed-saving resources designed for seed libraries and their patrons interested in increasing the supply of local seeds, and develop their own locally resilient crops.

The seeds we provide have more diversity than average (heirlooms were allowed to cross-pollinate in previous generations) to provide the greatest opportunity for selecting vigorous plants under your local growing conditions, as well as reducing the barriers for gardener seed savers (there are fewer requirements for isolation). We teach people to select the best flavor and disease resistance.

This is a multi-year process and seed saving is a crucial step in this process. We hope to assist you in improving your seed return rates!

Each Kit includes:

- 25 printed booklets with crop-specific growing & saving instructions

- Custom-designed for your organization, quarter-page zine format for easy distribution (slightly larger than a seed packet)

- Pre-packaged seed packets containing diverse seed mixes

- Seeds contributed by community growers (local when possible)

3. Make a donation (optional and very appreciated, link in upper right corner of this page). $25 covers the costs of one kit of 25 booklets (includes 25 seed packets), so if you order more than one kit and can contribute $25 for each one, we appreciate it). For every $25 you contribute, we'll make every effort to send you the desired amount of kits or give you credit for the following year.

4. Within a couple of weeks, we'll be in touch with a draft of your customized booklet so that you can approve and edit it if desired.

5. Receive your package!
