Caroline’s journey to Arizona from New Mexico was marked by unimaginable sorrow. She came to be by her dying mother’s side, carrying the weight of heartbreak no one should ever face. But amid the pain, another fear gripped her: when she learned Lamby couldn’t stay at her family’s home, she felt utterly lost and scared, desperate to protect her loyal companion but unsure how.

Separated from the only friend who had been her constant source of comfort, Caroline’s days were filled with grief and uncertainty. Meanwhile, Lamby was embraced into our Temporary Care Program, surrounded by warmth, care, and the security she desperately needed. For 89 long days, while Caroline mourned her loss and searched for a new place to call home, Lamby waited, safe, but missing her person just as much.

The ache of being apart was a heavy burden for them both, but so was the unbreakable hope that sustained their connection across the distance.

Finally, the day came when Caroline secured a home where she and Lamby could be reunited. The moment they saw each other again was nothing short of heartwarming. There were tears, wagging tails, and overwhelming joy flooding a room that had once been filled with pain. It was a powerful reminder that love, even in the darkest hours, never lets go.

Thanks to the compassion and support behind our Temporary Care Program, no family has to face the heartbreak of saying goodbye forever. Because of you, Caroline and Lamby—and countless others—can stay together through life’s hardest challenges, proving that love and hope will always find a way.

(P.S. Lamby didn’t just leave with Caroline—she also walked out rocking a brand-new wardrobe that would make any pup jealous. Talk about a fresh start in style!)
