The Legion of Black Collegians is seeking support from alumni and allies to sustain vital programming such as LBC Homecoming Week, Black Love Week, Freshman Action Team, and travel to the Big 12 Conference on Black Student Government. Our programs such as these were directly impacted by the University’s unjust decision to defund our student government. Our goal is to not only restore but double the amount of funding lost to ensure perpetuity of our organization.

$63,000 will be placed into a fund for the 2026-2027 year. Another $60,000 will be placed into a fund for the following year. $27,000 will be placed into an LBC legacy fund to preserve LBC history. The current Executive Cabinet along with the newly elected cabinet will manage all funds raised. Full financial plans will be sent to donors at the start of the school year.

Why is this important? The Legion of Black Collegians works as an umbrella organization, protecting a sector of campus. Our programming sits alongside our funding pool for underorganizations such as NABJ, Mizzou Black Creatives, The Divine Nine Chapters, and much more. In total, we have 25 underorgs which we provide $500 each. This ensures that not only is the Legion putting on programming, but other sectors of Mizzou are able to host events, go to conferences, get merchandise, and much more.
