Each summer, Badlands Opera Project hosts a weeklong Summer Music Camp for students ages 8–19, offering an immersive, joy-filled experience in music and musical theatre. From June 7 to 13, 2026, students will come together at Dickinson State University to rehearse and perform Matilda the Musical Jr., working alongside experienced directors, voice teachers, choreographers, and more!

This camp is truly magical. Students grow in confidence, creativity, and collaboration as they prepare a full production — all while having an incredible amount of fun. For many, it’s a life-shaping week of learning, belonging, and discovering their voice.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to participate, regardless of financial circumstances. Tuition for camp ranges from $375–$500, depending on registration date. Funds raised through this Giving Hearts Day campaign will go directly toward camperships (student scholarships) to help lower the cost of tuition and make camp accessible to more families.
