Healing for Beebal, Hope for Nepal

For more than a decade, Beebal Singh Limbu has been at the heart of our work in Nepal. Many of you have walked beside him — guiding us into the villages of Sindhupalchok, ensuring families had access to healthcare, and carrying medicine and hope across mountains and rivers. His leadership and devotion have touched countless lives, including our own.

On August 28th, Beebal suffered a stroke. He is now recovering in Kathmandu, facing challenges with his vision, memory, and mobility. While his spirit remains strong, his path to healing will be long.

At the same time, Nepal is experiencing great upheaval, with young people rising to end corruption in their government. Because of this and Beebal’s health, we have had to cancel our October program. This has left us without the funding we rely on to purchase medical supplies and support our Nepali crew — all while the communities we serve continue to need care.

I have to share something personal: for years, one of my greatest fears has been what if Beebal or I suddenly became unable to do this work? How would we continue? Who would step in? Now that this fear has become reality, I realize the answer is clear — it will take all of us. It will take community. It will take love in action.

This campaign is about two things:
💙 Supporting Beebal’s recovery so he can heal surrounded by love.
🌿 Carrying forward the work he has devoted his life to — ensuring the villages of Sindhupalchok still receive the medicines and supplies they depend on.

Here’s what your gift makes possible:

• $6,000: Medical supplies for all 9 villages

• $250: Transport from Kathmandu to Gati

• $900: Transport for 9 crew members into the villages

• $2,400: Six months of Beebal’s medical care

• $600: Six months of food, transport & unforeseen expenses

Our goal is to raise $12,000 to cover these needs and ensure both Beebal and the villages are cared for in the months ahead. Any additional funds raised will go directly toward supporting our staff, who have lost income due to the cancellation of our October program.

Beebal has given so much of himself to his people and to us. Now it’s our turn to give back.
