The Minneapolis American Indian Center provides essential social, youth, elder, health, and employment services through numerous programs that support the more than 35,000 Native people living in the Twin Cities Metro Area.
Our building reopened in 2024 after a historic renovation and expansion, positioning us as a vital community gathering space for generations to come. Since opening our doors 50 years ago, the center has been the heart of the Twin Cities Native American community. Each year, we serve more than 10,000 elders, adults, and families through our programs, and many more people visit the center for events, resources, and activities.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps us maintain essential resources for the urban Native community and work toward a brighter future. The support of people like you makes this important work possible.
The renovated center seamlessly blends tradition with modern expansions, making it a central hub for Native food, art, health programs, youth activities, social services, and commerce. The Boys & Girls Club of the Minneapolis American Indian Center now offers free, culturally tailored, and engaging programming for local Native youth in its newly expanded space, which includes the Best Buy Teen Tech Center. Gatherings Café provides healthy, accessible meals rooted in Indigenous ingredients in an expanded kitchen and dining area overlooking Franklin Avenue. Two Rivers Gallery has a larger space to showcase emerging Native artists. Additionally, community members and organizations can rent meeting and event spaces within the center.
This historic expansion project has been years in the making, and we continue to raise funds to support our programming and general operations. Every donation—big or small—makes a meaningful difference.
