Make My Mother Proud

My name is Lakia Echols, founder of Make My Mother Proud. I just recently returned home from deployment (23 years US Army) to see my home Far Rockaway, NY over populated with buildings on top of building which means more youths in our community. For years, our community lacked resources for the youth and the goal of my organization Make My Mother Proud is to open an educational services and provide more recreational programs for the youth. We would like to help with increasing the graduation rate and with recreational programming to keep the youth off the streets. There nothing much for the youth to do in the Far Rockaway community and before another territorial turf is formed we would like to get programs rolling to keep them busy. Please help us with our mission to keep our youth educated and safe. Thank you!
