The friends, neighbors and family of beloved community member Manuel Stamathis are working together to raise funds to dedicate a tree in his honor and memory in Patterson Park.

Emmanuel Samuel Stamathis passed on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023, at the age of 74. Emmanuel, known affectionately as Manuel, was a lifelong resident of Highlandtown/Patterson Park, and his presence will be deeply missed.

Manuel was a man of many passions and cherished by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband of 50 years to his beloved wife, Dorothea Stamathis, and a loving father. He will be remembered for his unwavering love of music, his enjoyment of smoking cigars, and his well-deserved retirement, where he savored life's simple pleasures.

In honor of Manuel's memory, we are coming together to create a lasting tribute that reflects the beauty and vitality of his life. We invite you to join us in supporting the Emmanuel Manuel Stamathis Memorial Tree Fundraiser.

Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Dorothea Stamathis, his brother, George Stamathis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Laini, and his parents, Samuel and Kiki Stamathis.

This fundraiser, in coordination with Friends of Patterson Park, aims to plant a beautiful memorial tree in Patterson Park, a place that Manuel cherished and holds special significance to his family. Trees symbolize life, growth, and strength, and they provide a lasting tribute to Manuel's memory. Your contribution to this fundraiser will not only honor Manuel's life but also serve as a source of comfort and reflection for his family and friends.
