Kids from low-income families in Lansing rarely get to build anything real. Camps and enrichment programs cost too much, and the nearest options can mean a trip out of town that many families can't make. So we bring the launch pad to them.

At the Many Hands Rocket Lab, kids ages 6 to 14 design, build, and launch their own rockets, with a parent building right alongside them. Build one day, launch the following weekend, right here in Lansing. Younger kids start with air-powered stomp rockets. Older kids can build a real model rocket with laser-cut fins made on our own engraver.

How it works
Family seat: $10 suggested donation per child, parent included. Your donation buys the rocket parts and keeps the class running.
Scholarships available: if $10 is a hardship, choose a scholarship seat. No questions asked.
Sponsor a student: $10 puts another kid on the launch pad.

Safety first
At least one parent or guardian must stay for the whole class and the launch. We are not a daycare. Only trained adults handle rocket motors, everyone wears safety glasses, and every launch follows the National Association of Rocketry's Model Rocket Safety Code.

Can't make it?
Download our free at-home rocket kit at thechurchofmanyhands.org/rocketlab.html, build it at home, and bring your rocket to launch day.

Our promise
We never photograph the kids. We protect their privacy and report our impact in numbers instead.

Lernin' Stuff is a program of The Church of Many Hands, a secular 501(c)(3) in Lansing. We don't do thoughts and prayers. We do work.
