Fundraiser for Marcela

About Marcela: Marcela is a single mom of two (6 yr old & 17 yr old) and a member of Intransitive. Marcela has been experiencing domestic violence for a couple of years in silence, as many women do. During the most recent attack, her abuser called the police and falsely accused her. Due to Marcela's immigration status she has been detained with an ICE hold for over a month.

What is an ICE hold? When a non-US Citizen is detained by police in Arkansas, they automatically place a hold on behalf of ICE. This means that although we have constitutional rights around "innocent until proven guilty", non-US citizens are being denied due process in Arkansas. When a person receives an ICE hold they are unable to bond out of jail regardless of lack of evidence.
