MaTovu Capital Campaign
MaTovu is excited to announce the public phase of our $750,000 capital campaign to purchase our building, expand our staff, and establish a permanent, sustainable home for our growing community! This is also an opportunity to purchase the historic Southside Hebrew Congregation building in Botanical Heights that has served as MaTovu’s home since 2018—returning it to Jewish communal ownership for the first time in 75 years.
Owning the building will:
Reduce our largest expense (rent) and redirect resources to people and programs
Expand staff capacity to better support volunteers, Builders, and community growth
Create financial reserves for stability and resilience
Ensure long-term security so MaTovu can remain rooted in South City
This campaign is about more than a building--it's about creating a lasting, welcoming home for belonging. It represents a pivotal moment in MaTovu's journey, as we grow from a grassroots, volunteer-led initiative to a thriving into a community-powered organization. Thank you for being part of this transformation and for investing in our community!
