Support a rural council of Mayan midwives in Guatemala to build an herbal clinic providing critical lifelines for their community. These midwives go through their remedies and supplies too fast to keep up with, due to the level of need in their locality and the lack of material and institutional support. They are primary healthcare providers in their remote communities, implementing time tested remedies and hands-on generational knowledge to protect the life of those they serve, despite severe infrastructural limitations and systemic obstacles.
These funds will allow them to establish a centralized apothecary and buy the basic materials needed to produce an adequate amount of medicine for those they serve. Simple supplies such as beeswax, jars, oil, alcohol (for tinctures), and labels are amongst the items needed to do their work.
They are a powerhouse of women, working collaboratively in an environment with many obstacles they face and surpass every day. Please support and share!
