Hey y'all! I'm Portia Wofford. I'm ecstatic to represent the beautiful state of Alabama as your Ms. Black Alabama USA, 2022. Ms. Black Alabama USA is a part of the Miss Black USA organization.

Miss Black USA is the first and largest scholarship pageant for women of color, awarding over $500,000 in scholarships. The pageant empowers women to own their power and celebrates their unique traits, talents, and beauty.

I'm proud to announce that I'm competing for the title of Ms. Black USA 2022, in August in Washington DC.

Who am I?

I'm an award-winning nurse, entrepreneur, influencer, and writer. I've dedicated 12 years of my nursing career caring for my community and creating solutions that positively impacted patient outcomes. These days I work with large health and nursing brands to ensure they promote health equity and access to care to marginalized populations and underserved communities.

What's my platform?

My platform is Plan of CARE: Health Equity through Content, Accessibility, Responsibility, Removing barriers, & Education.

During my reign, my community service projects will center on:

Impacting health equity and underserved communities by educating 100 healthcare professionals on their social impact through disseminating health content
Creating a longterm impact on diversity in health professions, specifically nursing, by introducing children from BIPOC communities to health professions through literacy
Educating the community on social determinants of health by educating healthcare professionals on how they can use their platforms to promote health equity and access to care
