Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cheektowaga, NY is home to thousands of grave markers, some dating back to 1859! These stones tell the story of our community—its families, its veterans, its pioneers. But time and weather have taken a toll leading to cracked, leaning, and eroded headstones. Without loved ones left to care for these plots, these headstones are at risk of being lost forever.
In order to support this work, we must stabilize our 1861 Maintenance Building. Currently, the roof leaks, the foundation is crumbling, and without restoration, this landmark could be lost forever. This space will serve as our Restoration and Education Headquarters.
The Mount Calvary Heritage Restoration Fund exists to protect and restore these monuments so they can continue to bear witness to our shared history.
